Fans tuning into the show were hoping to see an end to the Hollywood Hogan vs Randy Savage rivalry that has caused a great deal of turmoil within the nWo. Hogan vs Savage was the featured main event, and their match would be contested inside a steel cage. Elsewhere on the show the nWo's Scott Hall finally got his World Heavyweight Title shot after winning the 1997 World War 3 battle royal. Hall faces Sting in the semi-main spot, and everyone wonders what could happen to the nWo if Scott Hall becomes world champion. Bret Hart and Curt Hennig square off in a WCW ring after having classic encounters in the WWF, Chris Jericho defends the cruiserweight championship against Dean Malenko, and a triple jeapordy US title match featuring Diamond Dallas Page, Raven and Chris Benoit has the potential to steel the show.
