In this video, we explore the question: Does watercolour paper ever go bad? How does this happen, what does it look like, how to prevent it, and what you can do if it does. Learn how to properly store your watercolour paper for optimal results and join me as I experiment with Gesso and Daniel Smith Watercolour Ground to see if we can restore the paper.

👉👉Any paper can go off. According to research, cold-pressed and rough are more likely to change over time. Hot-pressed seems to be more stable.
👉👉I've been drawing and painting nature inspired subjects for over 40 years in various mediums starting with oils, acrylics, charcoal, pastel, and in latter years, watercolour.
With continuous practice I am finding new ways of approaching my subjects and am excited to be sharing these techniques with you. If you'd like to see more, drawing and painting techniques, please subscribe and you'll be notified when a new video is uploaded.
I'd love to hear your comments and thoughts...and requests for new videos :-)
