Walking the Entire Cotswold Way - Winchcombe to Cleeve Hill

The Cotswold Way – a truly beautiful National Trail stretching just over 100 miles. It begins in the charming market town of Chipping Campden, meanders south through the heart of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and finishes in the historic City of Bath. Join me on this series every Sunday as I set out to walk and film every single step of this stunning trail, sharing the entire journey with you from start to finish. Part 4: Winchcombe to Cleeve Hill – 7.4 miles (11.9 km) This section takes us through Winchcombe, weaving through the peaceful Sudeley Estate as we begin a steady climb along field paths. Our first stop is the ancient Neolithic long barrow of Belas Knap, a fascinating reminder of the area's rich history. From there, we’ll follow a steep descent through Breakheart Plantation, passing the picturesque Postlip Hall nestled in the trees. The trail then challenges us with another climb, leading us to the Golf Club House at Cleeve Hill, where we’ll be rewarded with stunning views from the highest point in the Cotswolds. This section includes 1,082 feet (330 metres) of ascent and 476 feet (145 metres) of descent, offering a mix of history, woodland, and panoramic scenery.
