Walk: 🇲🇾 PENANG FERRY GUIDE: from KTM Train Station to Island in 30 Minutes!
This is an updated video as a lot of changes has been made since my original video from the new covered pathway from the KTM Station to the Ferry Terminal and new the ferry itself. After arriving at the train station, I took a well-maintained covered walkway heading towards Raja Tun Uda Ferry Terminal. The entire walk took just about 10 minutes, passing through several local shops and a small food court. For first-timers, I've included clear directions and landmarks to help you navigate this short distance without any confusion.

At the ferry terminal, I show you the current ticketing system and how to purchase your tickets from either the counter or automated machines. The ferry service now operates two types of vessels - a fast passenger boat and the traditional vehicle ferry. Ticket prices remain affordable, making this one of the most economical ways to cross over to Penang Island.
The ferry journey itself offers spectacular views of Penang's coastline. During my 15-minute crossing, I captured the iconic heritage buildings of George Town, both Penang bridges, and the busy maritime activities in the strait. This historical ferry service has connected mainland and island since 1920, and despite modern alternatives, it remains my favorite way to reach Penang. Upon arrival at Pengkalan Raja Tun Uda, you'll find yourself right in the heart of George Town's heritage district.
