Christmas Day 2024 at Vail Ski Resort in Colorado! The morning starts off slow, cool, and overcast as the skiers and riders are still busy enjoying their Christmas morning rituals at home before hitting the slopes. Vail is never so empty as first thing on Christmas morning. There's a huge amount of open terrain today and hardly any waiting at the chairlifts. The sun tries very hard to poke through, but except for some brief interludes, it is unsuccessful. The groomed trails are a delight, but the bumps and open slopes and are hardpack and crunchy.
