In this video we will make use of V-Ray's UVW Randomizer tool. With this you will never have to deal with tiling textures again. With the push of a button you can eliminate ugly Tiling procedurally and create surfaces which don't show any visible signs of repetitions.
For this we will first explore the basic workflow on a simple dummy texture so that you understand the logic behind this tool. Afterward we will transfer the setup to a more complex shader using multiple maps, displacement and even a grass setup which will all be guided by the UVW Randomizer.
I am using 3ds Max and V-Ray 6 in this demo and you will have to use a V-Ray versions that supports the UVW Randomizer. Similar workflow can also possibly be use used in other software such as Cinema4d, Maya, Blender and different kind of render engine such as Corona, Octane, Redshift, Arnold, Cycles, CyclesX, Eevee and countless others which probably support similar features.
