UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS (2009) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch | Michael Sheen

Achara and Kristen continue on with the third installment of the Underworld series, this time a prequel titled Underworld: Rise of the Lycans! A forbidden love ignites a brutal war between vampires and Lycans, revealing the origins of the centuries-old blood feud. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) was directed by Patrick Tatopoulos (Godzilla [1998] – Creature Designer, Independence Day – Visual Effects, Justice League – Production Designer). The film stars Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon, The Queen, Masters of Sex) as Lucian, the first Lycan who rises against vampire oppression. Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Shaun of the Dead) reprises his role as Viktor, the ruthless vampire elder determined to control the Lycans. Rhona Mitra (Doomsday, The Last Ship, Boston Legal) plays Sonja, Viktor’s rebellious daughter whose love for Lucian sparks the war. Steven Mackintosh (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Luther, Rocketman) portrays Andreas Tanis, a vampire historian entangled in the unfolding conflict. Kevin Grevioux (Underworld, I, Frankenstein, Planet of the Apes [2001]) returns as Raze, Lucian’s fiercely loyal second-in-command. This action-packed prequel delves into the origins of the war between vampires and Lycans, setting the stage for the events of the Underworld saga.
