Understanding FreeCAD: Lesson 6 Shape Binder Hinged Box | Part Design Beginners Tutorial 3D Printing
In this lesson we learn how to model a a hinged non symmetrical box for 3D printing using the part design in FreeCAD. Using multi-body modelling we learn how to use a sub-shape binder to reference parts from one body in another, allowing us to pull geometry such as faces, sketches etc across bodies to build parametric features. We will learn how to use a linear pattern to create the hinges and reference these in another body to create a inter locking set. We will build the box with basic partdesign wb features so as pads and sketches from the sketcher and learn how to hollow out these features with thickness to create walls to our box. Built in a beginners friendly way so if your just starting out with FreeCAD then you will be able to follow this tutorial.
