There are two methods for adding digital data to traditional analog FM radio broadcasts. In addition to the well-known and widely implemented Radio Data Service (RDS), a second service called the Data Radio Channel (DARC) is sometimes used to carry medium bit rate data, primarily for use in transportation applications.
