Listen To Heavy Train Being Pushed Up The Hill With A Manned Locomotive! Sanding The Rails & Close Look At Rail With Sand Debris. Train With DPU Blocks Road Waiting To Go Down The Hill. Train Speeding Down The Hill With New York Central Heritage Unit. Norfolk Southern Train With DPU On Rear Stops At Top Of Hill And Then Proceeds Down With Plenty Of Horn. Trains Working The Hill In Kentucky. The first train is a very fast Norfolk Southern train with the New York Central Heritage Unit. The train is just hitting the summit of the hill that drops into the Ohio River valley and is starting down the hill. The train was booking over the railroad crossing in Erlanger, Kentucky. This is Mile Post 10. Ohio river area at the bottom of the hill is Mile Post 0. Then I go 3 miles north to about Mile Post 7 to catch a very heavy train going up the hill. This is a loaded grain train with a manned pusher shoving the rear. We see it at the Beechwood Road railroad crossing in Crescent Springs, Kentucky. After it passes we take a close look at the rail and see sand all around the rail and ties. I think the mark on the rail stands for Arcelor Mittal. A viewer told me that. Locomotives apply sand to the rails for traction. Next, we go back to the railroad crossing in Erlanger. A huge 9,200 feet long train is getting ready to go down the hill. The mixed freight has a DPU in the middle. The train stops in Elsmere which is about a half mile away but we can see it. The train blocks Main Street in Elsmere for about 35 minutes before it gets permission to proceed down the hill towards Gest street Yard in Cincinnati, Ohio. Listen to the locomotives as they pass me and get to the very summit before they start dropping down into the Ohio river valley. A lucky motorcyclist gets to watch the train pass and then I show a couple of interesting things in the area. The motorcyclist took a picture of the train and then walked back to his bike. The last train is back at the Beechwood Railroad crossing. A huge train pulled up and stopped for a short time before entering the steepest and curviest part of the hill. This train has a DPU on the rear and all kinds of freight cars. Which train was your favorite? Do you like the hill as much as me and what is your favorite location that I film on the hill? Don't forget the Live Action Pets and the slide show at the end of this video. Filmed Sunday, April 27, 2025 in 1080p/4K with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
