Cab ride on the intercity service from Almere to Amsterdam and Amersfoort. And as a bonus this video will take you further as an empty train to Deventer too. Have fun!
It's round 8 'o clock in the morning and we're ready from departure at the shunting tracks in Almere. As soon as our signal shows a better light than red we take the train from the shunting track to the station to pick up our passengers. As you can see its rush hour so we have lots of fans. Also on the other side of the platform the transfers arrive from the North of country with 12 carriages of ICMm.
The train schedule is very tide here in Almere. Only three minutes after the intercity to The Hague has left the station we are planned for departure as well. Right on the dot we start heading toward Amsterdam. The ride to Amsterdam is only 20 minutes. Short ride with no stops in between. Just after leaving Almere you will see the high way A6 on the left followed by our pretty new bridge over the A1 high way a little further on the tracks.
Just after Weesp you can see we're not making any more speed until we have passed the bridge over the Amsterdam Rijn canal. This is because the weather has made the tracks very slippery and our train can't get grip when setting traction on the weals. As soon as we go downhill the train can make new speed again.
On our arrival in Amsterdam lots of passengers are already waiting for the ride to Amersfoort with this train. We open the doors, shutdown the cabin and walk to the other side. Seven minutes after arriving in Amsterdam we already depart for the Amersfoort direction.
As you can see the weather is pretty rough today. Luckily for us we don't have any trouble coming forth out of this. You will just see lots and lots of rain and wind. On our way to Amersfoort we'll make a stop in Hilversum and then hit for the final stop of the passenger service. But that's not all!
In Amersfoort our train get emptied by our train manager and after this the doors of the train get closed and we can continue to Deventer as an empty train. Because of the shunting plans in Deventer we have to make a stop in Apeldoorn as well. Just to let some other train go first and also to make space for our train at the shunting tracks in Deventer.
As soon as we arrive at our final stop another driver takes the train to its shunting track where the train will rest until its needed for rush hour in the afternoon. During this rest period the train gets its maintenance and cleaning round.
I hope you enjoy this new video. If you have any questions, please let me know on the comments and I'll come back to you. Cheers!
