A new one on us, even after all these years. Flush the loo to sluice out your poo and your RCD trips too! Headphone warning – my TIS MFT Pro was pretty close to the mic from the
7:54 mark which makes for some ear-fingering bleeps as it does its thang. Sorry.
Long story short, we didn’t find the point where the water was getting into the wiring although we were able to at least get it out of the way. We’ll leave the plumber to pull the kitchen apart in order to effect repair at which point we’ll have better access to nail the fault position.
And yes, we smelled somewhat eau de toilette after this one. Who said electrical work was glamourous?
This is where IR testing really comes into its own, although continued application can dry out your wet wiring making it appear the fault has gone away.
Don’t worry, the McHat hasn’t retired, it just has a few days off of late to save wear & tear!
Time on site: one hour. But we still needed a coffee afterwards.
