To VFD or not to VFD: Centrifugal pump flow control

This video looks at where a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) will provide good flow control for a centrifugal pump. We look at steep vs flat pump curves, and friction vs static head dominated hydraulic systems. This is a thinking exercise at the whiteboard, not a detailed mathematical analysis.
