Essentially, I went on to say that Booktok has set unrealistic reading expectations, and the average person doesn't have the time or energy to read a dozen or more books per month, but Booktok has made that seem like that is the baseline. I think a key thing is to remember why you chose the hobby to begin with, it wasn't the sprayed edges, it wasn't the vast array of marker or huge collection of Colourtok books. It was the quiet, the transformative experience and getting you out of your head. That's the main reason people have hobbies! You don't need to read 100 books a year, go at your own pace and enjoy the story. You don't need 100 markers, or 20 different books.
