Three Days of Epic Bluefin Fishing on the Ranger 85

In the summer of 2024, Southern California anglers experienced some of the best bluefin tuna fishing in years. Acres of fish stretched from Mexico all the way to the Oregon coast, setting the stage for an unforgettable season. With reports of wide-open bites, we rallied up a Stoked on Fishing 3-day trip aboard the Ranger 85, departing from H&M Landing in San Diego at the peak of the bite—mid-August. This was our first time fishing with Captain Jake Hensley and his crew, and they did not disappoint. Jake took over the Ranger 85 in 2020 and has been putting anglers on quality fish ever since. From epic blow-ups to full-speed action, this trip was one for the books.
