This video introduces the novice machinist to thread cutting on the lathe. More specifically this video looks at the cutting of a 5/8 - 18 UNF 2A thread as well as the three wire method for thread measurement. Keeping in mind that the objective of my videos is to introduce novice machinists to accurate work techniques, this video presents a progressive approach to threading accurately backed by proper measuring techniques.
