In this video, I showed you guys what is, in my opinion, the BEST distance sensor, which uses a VL53L7CX from ST. I cover how to use it with ESP32, STM32, and RP2350, and why it's so good - it has a range of up to 3.5m, 60Hz polling rate (at 4x4 resolution) and up to 8x8 resolution, meaning you get an 8x8 grid of distances you can use to find a more exact direction of the target, which is helpful in robotics applications such as a sumo robot or line follower. I also use the sensor to point a laser into my eye, because it's funny.
