This video talks about how to write a research statement for a faculty position and also a postdoc. Here we are talking about an important topic for academics, and that is the research statement. This is the most important document you are going to write when you are applying for jobs and hitting that job market. As a mathematician, you need to not only be good at doing mathematics, but also at describing your math and marketing your research. What we are looking for when we are writing our statements is an eye on the future, we want to describe what our objectives are, what funding agencies we are going to solicit, and why that particular place is going to be a good spot for us to do research. This applies to both postdocs and tenure track positions, and so watch to find out how I go about this!
