The Wright Way: Powering the Golden Age of Aviation, 1920 – 1946
Since 1903, when Orville and Wilbur made history in their flying machine, Wright has been the first name in flight. The business that they established in 1909, reorganized as the Wright Aeronautical Corporation and moved its operations to Paterson in 1920. This program will examine aviators and the records they set. Whether it was an altitude, speed or endurance record, it was usually accomplished in a plane powered by an engine manufactured at Wright Aero. This program is the second in a three part series focusing on the history of Wright Aeronautical Corporation in Paterson. This lecture was presented by Giacomo DeStefano on April 15th, 2025, via zoom.
