"The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan" which originally aired on the CBS television network Halloween night on Wednesday, October 31st, 1979 at 9PM. This engaging time travel fantasy love story starred Lindsay Wagner ("The Bionic Woman") & future "Beastmaster" Marc Singer. This film also stars Linda Gray from "Dallas" (which was at the start of it's 3rd season when this aired on CBS).
A similar movie titled "Somewhere in Time" starring Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour & Christopher Plummer based on "Bid Time Return" by author Richard Matheson was released in movie theaters on Friday, October 3rd, 1980 a year after "The Two Worlds of Jennie Logan" premiered on Halloween night in 1979. Jeannot Szwarc directed that wonderful film with Reeve.
The story:
Jennie Logan discovers an antique dress in her attic that allows her to travel back in time. Soon she's torn between life with her philandering husband and a romance with a handsome artist who was murdered at the turn of the century.
This is the most romantic time travel movie you probably never saw!
The makeup special effects in this movie are by legendary artist Stan Winston. Stan is known for his work in the "Terminator" series, the first three "Jurassic Park" films, "Aliens", "The Thing", the first two "Predator" films, "Inspector Gadget", "Iron Man", and "Edward Scissorhands" , among other projects he worked on over the years. Stan Winston won four Academy Awards for his work.
