This week I wanted to talk about a common challenge, but an unsurprising effect when you first stop drinking alcohol, and that is, sugar cravings! This phenomena is well described across literature, blogs and social media. The sugar addiction that comes when going alcohol free.
In this video I address the science behind these sugar cravings, discussing the role of our dopamine system and why this can make us feel so rough in those initial weeks and months. The good news is that you can get through this and by using tried and tested techniques, which I share in this video, you will move past this stage.
I also speak about some of the other effects and feelings I had at the beginning of my alcohol free journey and how I adapted to this new life. It is so worth it and I am here for you every step of the way.
