The Three-Pyramid-Problem
Why did Sneferu construct three enormous pyramids without a sarcophagus? The pyramid of Meidum and the Red & Bent pyramids of Dahshur are the earliest smooth sided pyramids to be built. They are also among the largest and best preserved pyramids of ancient Egypt, yet none of them has been found with a stone sarcophagus inside. Traditional stories claim Sneferu was continually seeking a more perfect monument to be buried within, and that construction flaws are to be blamed for making three pyramids. But does this story align with the physical evidence at each pyramid, and what might all the pyramids have in commmon that reveals a solution to the three-pyramid problem? This video looks at the actions of the ancient Egyptians to break the spell of conventional wisdom and finally align the physical evidence to a probably solution. -------------------- Join this channel to get access to livestreams: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDWboBDVnIsGdYSK3KUO0hQ/join -------------------- Thanks to the Isida Project for photos: https://isida-project.ucoz.com/ Thanks to Valery Senmuth for the many photos: https://www.youtube.com/@Senmuth Thanks to Keith Hamilton for the 3d reconstruction of the Meidum Pyramid chambers: https://independent.academia.edu/KeithHamilton Special Thanks to Kamil for the Red Pyramid Imagery Quotation Sources: Gilles Dormion & Jean-Yves Verd'hurt "La Chambre De Meidoum" Cahiers de la Société d'égyptologie, Geneve (CSEG) vol 12 (2013) Pp 48, 51, 52, Mark Lehner "The Complete Pyramids" Thames & Hudson 1997 Pp 98 Mark Lehner & Pierre Tallet "The Red Sea Scrolls" Thames & Hudson 2022 Pp 53 George W.
