The Story of the Wonderful Joan of Arc by Jules Bastien-Lepage

She was a peasant girl who, in 1425, started having visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine. They told her she had to liberate France from the English. Of course her story did not end well, but over time she became a heroine of France and would be depicted countless times. My favourite of those is this one by Jules Bastien-Lepage. So in this video, we take a close look at all the details in the painting while I tell you its story.
