The infamous Gold Hill route in Boulder has tested the legs of some of the best trail runners of all time. This long run follows in the footsteps of legends.
Stats: 22 miles with 3800 feet of climbing, consuming 131 grams of carbs per hour, and some harder pushes on the steep climbs, plus some spicy hills added to finish with a fatigue resistance stimulus.
Prior to this long run, I was tagged in a post predicting that I would fail in my big Western States 100 goal. "Pressure will break down the mind," the prominent commentator said, referring to saying scary goals out loud on this channel. I disagree with that point. Pressure can be a joyful part of sports, especially when it's shared with an amazing community like this. I may fail. And if I fail, I promise to do it openly and publicly.
Let's use sports to practice wanting the ball with time running out and our team down 2 points, knowing we're enough no matter what happens. It's not about whether the shot goes in or not. Shooters shoot; shooters miss a lot; shooters sometimes make it. And most of all, shooters say:
"Bring on the pressure."
We love you all! HUZZAH!
