Birds are out there 24 hours a day, exposed to all that nature can throw at them. They have to somehow find enough food and shelter to carry them through each day until Spring. It's a task when most of the food they eat, such as insects, is quite scarce during these times. It's remarkable and goes to show how well adapted they are, however a little proper help from people can go a long way.
