The Kassite Dynasty of Babylon

In this video we explore possibly the origins and history of the Kassite Dynasty of Babylon. Though the longest reigning dynasty of the ancient Near East, the Kassites as a people are not very well known. Despite their humble origins, their rule of ancient Mesopotamia was one of overall peace and prosperity. However, towards the end, the Kassites faced pressure from both the nascent state of Assyria as well as Mesopotamia's long-time rival, Elam.
