The Importance of Sleep | Dafna Ofer | TEDxLMSD
How many of you feel you could use another hour or two of sleep in the morning? Who thinks they could improve their performance if they had more sleep? Guess what? You are not alone, as about 50-70 millions have some sort of sleep disorder. Dr. Ofer explores the importance of sleep and what happens when we don't get enough.
Dr. Ofer earned her medical degree at Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv University in Israel. She completed her pediatric residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She completed a sleep medicine fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Ofer is board certified in Pediatrics and in Sleep medicine. She is a member of the Sleep Research Society (SRS) as well as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). In addition to adult sleep disorders, Dr. Ofer specializes in Pediatric and adolescent sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, hypersomnolence disorders, movement disorders, parasomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, insomnia and behavioral sleep disorders.
Dr. Ofer plays an integral role in the clinical and academic development of fellows in sleep medicine in both adult and pediatric
disciplines.
