A splinter group of the Bene Gesserit who had disappeared during The Scattering, the Honored Matres are ruthless and powerful, carrying a dark and violent version of the Bene Gesserit's manipulation techniques. Their return from the Scattering heralds a time of upheaval and change. The existing power structures of the Old Empire are tested and often brutally suppressed as they swiftly and decisively take control. Their rise isn't just a shift in the balance of power; it's a shockwave that disrupts the established order of the universe. But who are these mysterious, violent women, and what caused them to become such a potent and disruptive force? To answer that, we'll need to delve into their origins, their beliefs, abilities, history and the circumstances that shaped them into the power-hungry group we meet in the series.
