THE HARDEST SECTION OF THE WEST HIGHLAND WAY (not what we expected!)

A nice walk along the Loch seemed like it would be easy BUT we now understand what people are talking about when they say this is the hardest section of the West Highland Way in Scotland. The area from Balmaha to Inverarnan around Loch Lomond is beautiful. Yet the trail is rocky, muddy, slippery, and packed with rocks and tree roots. It is mentally EXHAUSTING. And as much as we didn't love this section - we still are so happy to be on the trail (despite our crabby attitudes at the end!).
