The FASTEST MC-101 Workflow

Part beatmaking demo, part tutorial on how to make the MC-101 workflow faster and easier. Shortcut list (in the order shown): SHIFT + Pad with a drum track active to load in a new drum sound SOUND to audition wav files SHIFT + ⋗ to change pattern settings, including length SHIFT + Pad while in step sequencer to edit a step (velocity, length, etc) SEQ + ⋗ SHIFT + SOUND with a drum track active to edit the pad’s settings (volume, panning, pitch, etc) SHIFT + VALUE will make the value jump by a bigger amount than 1 Note: The above is context sensitive. This is especially useful when setting the step length, as by default, it jumps by 8 steps (aka one bar). SHIFT + NOTE to set scale NOTE + OCT- or OCT+ to move up and down octaves while a scale is active (ie, not in chromatic mode) SHIFT + PROJECT + PAD while in the step sequencer for a tone track to clear a step Select source step, SHIFT + FX to copy, select destination step, SHIFT + FX again to paste SHIFT + TEMPO to Write (save projects) SHIFT + SOUND when in a tone track- Scroll to partial to edit sounds in depth SHIFT + TRACK SEL to change the sound source to be on a clip by clip basis SHIFT + FX in CLIP view to copy clips (works between tracks!)
