The Broken Reign of Aegon the Dragonbane

In the aftermath of the Dance of the Dragons, a new king Aegon Targaryen takes the Iron Throne of Westeros. Aegon III's reign is the gloomiest and most depressing in ASOIAF history. He is shown as a baby in House of the Dragon season one, and we'll have to wait to see how much of his life is covered by the HBO adaptation. Aegon the Dragonbane was melancholy to the end of his days, and his legacy is nothing compared to his sons Daeron and Baelor, a couple of the kings of all time in Game of Thrones lore.
