The Grand Canyon is home to an active volcano which last erupted a mere 900 years ago. This volcano has created 3,000 foot tall lavafalls as molten rock descended into the depths of the Grand Canyon, flowing into the Colorado River. What I am referring to is the Uinkaret volcanic field, which will be discussed in detail through the analysis of a geologist.
