Yes, you can get detailed in raster software, but animation is all about understanding and being able to read what you're seeing on the screen. You want your lines to be as clean and not wobbly as possible and vector is perfect for that. And if you want some wobble in your line, adjust your pen sensitivity to make the lines vary in the vector software!
