Slow Pitch Jigging vs Sharks at 100m Deep
Kaz and I ventured to North of the Mokohinau Island to do Slow Pitch Jigging in 100m of water trying to target Snapper, Kingfish, and various reef species that usually live in that zone.
We start with showing you our tackle storage the Meiho Bucket Mouth 9000 Heavy Duty Tackle Box and all the jigs and terminal tackle that we can fit in it.
It was a challenging days fishing but we persisted and landed a few fish here and there, along with getting our biggest Snapper sharked by Bronze Whalers and Kaz just managed to land his Snapper whole with a few grazes. In this area we caught more Golden Snapper than normal Snapper.
As the wind picked up in the afternoon, we went back to fishing in 60 metre depth but needed to use 270g Ocean’s Legacy Long Contacts to get the bottom and surprisingly we caught fish after fish even though the line was always way out back behind the boat.
