My friends Bobby, Natalie, Emilie and I rode through Slovenia. It was one of the most memorable rides I've ever been on. We visited the popular sites like Bled and Bohinj before crossing borders into Austria, Italy and riding through the Julian Alps. We went down to Piran on the coast before heading back to the capital, Ljubljana. I recommend Slovenia highly and hope you enjoy my story of riding through it. Sorry to those of you who speak Slovenian for butchering the pronunciation of at least half the town's names!
PS- thanks to everyone who watched the video and especially to those who left comments. There was lots of great advice in the comments along with a few clarifications:
1. The tank shown on the Austrian border is a WWII era T-34, not from WWI.
2. I mentioned that Gorizia was on the Italian side of the Iron Curtain which is true but so was Nova Gorica. The Iron Curtain ran on the eastern side of Yugoslavia, so it would suffice to say the division between the towns was because of the changing borders post WWII not the Iron Curtain or Cold War specifically.
3. I compared some places I saw to other places in the Balkans though none of the parts of Slovenia I was in are considered part of the Balkans. I regret the error.
