Slope Aspect is used to locate yourself on a map, even when you can’t see any terrain features or landmarks. This is very useful when walking at night or in fog, blizzard, heavy rain or any other type of reduced visibility.
In this video we take an in depth look at the use of Slope Aspect. There is also a full demonstration and explanation of each step.
The ability to use Slope Aspect to find your position is a very important skill which anyone heading out in to the hills should have.
