SIMPLE Algorithm in Staggered and Collocated Grid Arrangements

In this presentation, first, an introduction is given about the momentum equations. After that, the pressure-velocity coupling problem is presented by discretizing the momentum equation over a one-dimensional uniform grid. This is followed by the presentation of the staggered and collocated grid arrangements. Finally, the SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) algorithm is presented in both the staggered and collocated grid arrangements.
