Shooting a wedding ALONE ?! (Solo wedding photography & videography how to)
Ever wondered how to shoot a wedding by yourself as a wedding photographer & Videographer? It can be tricky at first but trust me the more you do it the more you will be a cofident wedding photographer/videographer and will be able to learn more about your capabilities! Tips for shooting a wedding as a wedding videographer by yourself: -Set up DSLR camera's on tripods to capture the raw wedding ceremony, reception -Use a camera (mirrorless/dlsr) on a gimbal with smooth autofocus -Shoot with mulitiple camera's to make it look like there are 4 videographers, not just 1 -Set up hidden go pros for sneaky shots as back ups -Capture beautiful audio with zoom h1 / h2's as a lav mic -Tap into the DJ's audio, (learn how to capture beautiful wedding audio) -Use a good rode mic for the tripod camera's -Know how the wedding day workflow works so you can be cofident to be where you need to be always Wedding videography & photography is a lot of fun, the more you shoot them the more you will learn how to capture them. After shooting over 200 weddings, desintation weddings, local and far away, I've shot many by myself to having a team of 4. It's easier for me to capture photo & video by myself and maybe have a second photographer for extra angles when the client desires it (most of them do!) the only time I bring a third videographer is if the client paid extra for it and they like that feature (a videogrpaher only doing raw video) I deliver two styles of wedding videos: -Wedding highlight films (I mainly use the best story telling clips 90% on my d750 10% moving smooth shots on my fuji xt2 and walking down isle/first kiss etc) -Constant footage of all the angles I capture of the ceremony/first dances/ speeches/etc, I'llsynce them all and colour grade and switch the angles so clients can view their entire ceremony. I DON'T deliver the literal raw files of a wedding day, I craft the raw footage. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Good luck capturing your wedding by your self, have fun!
