I have lived in Shanghai for so long, and I have always been around my home. I have never explored breakfast and food in other markets, and I have never really walked in depth on the streets of the city. This time I went to the Jialing Vegetable Market in Xuhui District to start a carbohydrate journey. I went to Changning District and Huangpu District again to look for time-honored delicacies.
In the urban area, there are a dazzling array of exquisite, creative and interesting places. The most different thing from Europe is that this city is always updating. Among the high-rise buildings, fashionably dressed passers-by showed an effortless sense of relaxation; in crowded alleys, sleepy-eyed wage earners lined up to buy breakfast for a few dollars. Sophistication and simplicity intertwine.
Exquisiteness is a unique quality of the city of Shanghai. In addition to unique old houses, the old alleys on the streets also have unique cafes. I never thought that a sense of history and sophistication could fit together so well. Young friends or couples can be seen everywhere on the street, sitting together, chatting and admiring the beautiful sunset. Strolling leisurely under the plane trees, you will see a different scenery every step you take, and every place is uniquely exquisite. Freedom, confidence, romance, and sophistication seem to permeate every young person. Although we will still have to run for life tomorrow, at least during this period of city walk, our souls and bodies belong only to ourselves.
Compared with the prosperity of Pudong and Lujiazui, what belongs to everyone in Shanghai is the lanes. People shuttle through these alleys and experience a different side of the city. I think that in addition to seeing the Oriental Pearl Tower and Lujiazui in Shanghai, Apart from these high-rise buildings, the most important thing to see is the lanes running through the city. Because only there can you see the truest shadow of old Shanghai; there, the anxiety and tension of the industrialized city seem to disappear, and you will see the Shanghai girl who wears high heels and light makeup all day long returning to the alley. Back home, I would go to the intersection without makeup and wearing slippers to buy some groceries; the children at the door would play games together in groups, noisy but calmer than the outside world. These small alleys in the city have become a kind of cultural and historical habitat. They are like ravines in the city and like blood vessels that add color to the city. #shanghaifood #citywalk #chinesefood #snacks
