She has a PhD in physics and is presently a Research Fellow at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies. She is a sort of Physics Cassandra, ominously warning in her book "Lost in Math" (Basic Books, 2018) that the pursuit of 'beauty' and naturalness is leading physics astray.
