In the 1970s I sold hundreds of these each year, usually with a small bowl. They are easier to make using slightly geen blanks and a bright light to gauge wall thickness. These blanks are 40 years old and bone dry. Blanks need to be 20-25% moisture content for the light trick to work. These were gauged by sound.
