Restored American Flyer Pacific #282 C&NW 4-6-2 for sale, in action
New brushes and springs from The Train Tender out in New York, rebuilt the smoke unit, rebuilt the reverse unit with new "fingers", cleaned her up and she's running strong again and setting off the smoke alarm. One thing you want to learn before you disassemble a postwar S gauge American Flyer is watch out for the red smokestack insert. Either remove it with a blade screwdriver first or be very careful taking the motor and frame down as it is plastic and most get broken that way. It's cheap to replace tho. The Train Tender has them, and everything else you need.
