Restoration a desk from the 1960s
#Restoration #Furniture restoration
I got this desk from a friend; it dates back to the 1960s. As you can see in the video, someone desperately tried to repair it by using glue that became very hard and was difficult to remove. Along with the desk, I also received an antique socket that was attached to the desk's chest — not the safest improvement, but that’s how things were back then. The desk is partially made of particleboard, and some might question whether it’s worth restoring since it’s made of that material. I believe it’s worth it, if only to gain experience in furniture restoration. Feel free to share your thoughts on restoring particleboard furniture — is it worth it or not? I gave the desk a new look, so it's not exactly a restoration. I covered the top and desk's chest with natural veneer, changed the handles, and finished everything with oil wax. Thank you for watching.
