Response to Gavin Ortlund: Why Preterism is the Worst End Times View
Gavin Ortlund recently released a video claiming full preterism is the “worst” view of the end times. Here’s my response—with Scripture, logic, and history. Preterism is a term that simply means "past in fulfillment." When a majority of Christians today read Bible prophecy (specifically in the New Testament) they immediately assume it is still in our future. We call that "futurism." I believe the Bible is clear that the prophecies would come to pass in a "soon", "at hand", and "quickly" manner. This would place the events in the future of the original audience, but in mine and your past. Thus the term preterism. My goal is to help explore the scriptures and be faithful to the text.
