Reno 2006 'September Fury' Qualifying

Mike Brown qualified in the number 1 position for the 2006 Reno National Championship Air Races in his highly modified Hawker Sea Fury. September Fury was powered by a fully built fuel injected R-3350-93R engine. At race power the engine put out over 4,000hp. Mike had a nickname as 'Low Down Brown' and during his qualifying run, he lived up to the reputation as he hugged the deck at over 475 mph. Mike then went on to clinch the top qualifier spot at 478 mph.
