She was born and raised in Walsall, West Midlands, and after 8 years at Everton (2000-01 & 2004-2011) Unitt is regarded as an adopted scouser - winning an FA Cup and League Cup with the club. After gaining 102 caps for her country and becoming an icon for the Lionesses, Rachel hung up her boots and has now become a firefighter - a dream job she craved since being a child.
