Pumping water from a hand dug well using a solar pump in Uganda (Kyegegwa) over a long distance (620 meters and vertical height difference of 60 meters excluding well depth)
Pumped water is meant for livestock and domestic use.
A shallow water well was dug and constructed, water is pumped to a high elevated tank that distributes the water to cattle troughs by gravity.
The pump rated power is 2,200 watts, Four solar panels each of 495 watts each were connected in series.
The controller used has protective features like; dry run, over/low voltage and current, automatic cleaning function, to mention.
Some special features include; stainless steel impellers and body.
