Puffin Photography in the ARCTIC

At the northeastern tip of mainland Norway, lies a wild land called Varanger. It houses a plethora of fascinating wildlife that survive its biting cold and brutal storms. In March and April of 2024, I dedicated three weeks to searching for and photographing these specialized species, bringing you along on my journey. In this episode, I explore the world-famous island of Hornøya. Here, a staggering 80 000 sea birds come to breed! They arrive at the tail end of the Arctic winter, allowing for the unique chance to photograph them in snowy conditions. The species I photograph in this video are the Atlantic puffin, razorbill, common guillemot (or murre) and European shag.
