That includes removing fruit formation in favour of new growth and structural developments. When you prune your citrus tree in winter you can expect a strong flush of spring growth. To make sure you don't waste energy and resources you need to ensure that #pruning is done correctly on your spring growth is thinned and new branches selected to give your tree the best structure and shape.
