Professor Achilleas Chaldaeakes and The Vlacho-Byzantine Choir [Corul Vlaho-Bizantin]
In order to celebrate ten years of chanting under the name of „Corul Vlaho-Bizantin” [The Vlacho-Byzantine Choir], the church music choir of the Archdiocese of Buzău and Vrancea (Buzău, Romania, 100 km North of Bucharest), gave a concert on Tuesday, the 10th of December 2024. The guest of this event was Professor Achilleas Chaldaeakes from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, internationally well-known soloist, conductor, composer, teacher and researcher in Byzantine Music. Professor Chaldaeakes chanted two very interesting epiphonemata written in alphabetic notation by Petros Manouel Ephesios (ca. 1830) and deciphered nowadays by Romanian researcher Cătălin Cernătescu from the National University of Music in Bucharest.
